At times, the user may perform a number of additions or modifications to a the program characteristics. Although the user may wish to make further changes, they also want to make sure that the amendments already carried out are retained. This can be done by going to the bottom of the screen, filing the item, re-entering the option and moving to the desired field. This does work but is cumbersome and time consuming. Because of this, PARADYME has provided a TAB function namely '[TAB] F S'. On typing this sequence, the system will save the current entry to disk and then allow the user to continue modifying the item. If the user does use this option, the system will print 'Saved to disk' on the error message line, (bottom line of the screen), to confirm that the save has been done. If the user EXITS out of the screen, the system will retain the last version SAVED to disk.
